The Philosophers

Knowledge takes many forms. Some is written, preserved in books and archives. Some survives only through memory, symbols, and forgotten teachings.

This personal illustration explores the continuity of wisdom across time. The ascetic master of the past and the young scholar of the present share the same luminous realm of thought, connected by an invisible bond that transcends place and era. The subtle awakening that accompanies the transmission of ideas unfolds as a silent realization. Though generations apart, they participate in the same enduring conversation, reminding us that knowledge outlives those who create it.

True knowledge lies neither in the cold stone nor in the pages of a book. The tablet is empty, and the volumes are but vessels. Knowledge exists in the minds that preserve it, reinterpret it, and pass it forward, allowing ancient thoughts to find new life across generations.

Inspired by the architecture, colors, and spirit of discovery found in fantasy worlds such as Kaladesh, this piece was an opportunity to explore warm light, rich materials, and a sense of quiet contemplation.
