[BOOK ILLUSTRATION] A Dragon appears: what do you do? - "Settings" Illustration

Illustration for José Fontenele's book "Aparece um Dragão: o que você faz?" (A Dragon appears: what do you do?) by Editora Draco. The book is a fun guide to RPG across different systems and speaks about the most important topics so players and DMs can have a (re)new understanding of it. Beyond the cover I've also done illustrations for chapter opennings and some other passages from the book.

This illustration acompannies the book section talking about "Settings" and how to develop unique and cohesive ones in tune with type of game being played and players characters. A cyber-samurai would feel very out of place in a Middle Earth setting. And speaking of Middle Earth, the map, as it should be to give it a more classical appeal, refers directly to the Tolkien conventions and style, a gentle nod to the Professor.
