Kisses from the Wasteland

[If you already saw me posting this work, don't worry, last time the algorithm behaved very strangely, showing me 0 views despite the artwork having likes and even comments. So I'm doing some testing posting it again. If you already liked and or commented on it, feel free to do it again if you wish. Thanks!]

Kisses from the Wasteland is one of those pieces that stayed with me over the years. It pulls mostly from the visual language of Fallout 3, but the mood, colors, and overall attitude lean much more toward Fallout 4. The spirit of classic 1950s pin-ups meets post-apocalyptic chaos, keeping the tone bright, bold, and a little irreverent.

This was actually one of my first digital paintings where I felt, “Alright, there’s something here.” It even ended up inspiring another Fallout illustration I already posted — “Keep it Cool and Be Yourself, Too The Man of the Hour!” — so revisiting this one felt like returning to where a lot started for me.

For this updated version, I fixed details that used to bother me and added more wasteland threats to boost the storytelling and energy of the scene. Despite all the danger happening around them, the tone stays bright and playful. The girls fear nothing and look great doing so, with her expressions of pure enjoyment, echoing classic pin-up posters: confident, stylish, and utterly fearless.

It’s been fun giving new life to an older work and seeing how much my technique has changed since the original. (At least I want to believe it so lol)
